Steven Titan is Chief Financial Officer at New Meridian, responsible for finance, accounting, human resources, strategic operations and business administration. Steven has more than 25 years of experience in executive leadership roles, almost all in education and education technology.

“I’m passionate about leveling the playing field for all students and developing tools to enhance the educational experience,” he said. His energy and enthusiasm is no accident. Steven has completed more than 200 triathlons around the country. He has done the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon in San Francisco 16 times, often with family. He has participated in the New York City Marathon 23 times.

Prior to joining New Meridian, Steven was the Chief Financial Officer of Collegeboard.com, the for-profit subsidiary of the College Board, where he oversaw financial operations, corporate strategy, and led several venture funding rounds. Collegeboard.com established the College Board’s web presence and registration platform for the SAT and AP. Steven also served as Treasurer of the parent corporation, College Board. During his time there he oversaw the ACCUPLACER assessment, developing a new type of computer adaptive diagnostic assessment, among other financial and operational responsibilities.

In addition to his edtech background, Steven has also served as a leader in institutional-level education as the Vice President of Finance & Administration at John Jay College. In this role, he managed finance, accounting, HR, and administration, overseeing an annual budget of more than $120 million.

Steven lives in New York with his wife, Liz, and black lab, Wilson. He has two grown children.
