Interactive Learning Courses: Assessment Literacy Basics

Now more than ever, it’s important to understand the value of assessment and the role it plays in measuring student achievement. Assessment data is critical in understanding how our schools are serving students, and provides valuable insight into where students start and end their learning journey during a school year so we can best support their needs for success in school and in life. Assessment literacy helps to shape opinions, knowledge and practices around assessment that lead all stakeholders in our educational system – from parents to teachers to administrators and policymakers – to make more informed decisions on how to best use assessment data to support student achievement and learning.

New Meridian, in partnership with the Maine Department of Education, have developed free Assessment Literacy Basics interactive learning courses.
