Kristopher John leads product strategy for New Meridian. His work includes conceiving and developing high-quality assessment solutions for students across the country.

Kristopher has an eye for detail and an appreciation for the elegant. And why not? He’s an avid bird watcher, partial to the Scarlet Tanager, a songbird with brilliant red plumage and striking black wings. Kristopher’s sharp eye is put to good use as he helps design New Meridian’s product suite.

Kristopher earned a B.A. in economics from Columbia, with a concentration in econometrics. That launched a career that has included more than 15 years of experience developing both national and state assessments for use in K-12 classrooms and higher education.

“Product development is challenging,” he said. “It takes a lot of thought and customer input to get it right. We work hard to take customer feedback and apply it to create successful products.”

Kristopher spent almost 10 years at the College Board, rising to the position of Executive Director of Research and Development. He helped engineer major improvements to the SAT and was instrumental in creating the company’s Springboard curriculum and the PSAT 8/9 assessment.

A certified Project Management Professional (PMP®), Kristopher later joined Curriculum Associates, where he led strategy for the suite of i-Ready Assessments.

“I have worked on many different types of student assessment each with a different purpose.” he said. “What I try to do is apply the lessons learned to provide a customer-centered product development process for New Meridian. We want to connect our assessments to teachers in the classroom and administrators who need high-quality data.”
