Ways To Engage

Educator Cadres:

We are inviting teachers, instructional coaches, administrators, and other specialists to participate directly in the test development process through select committees. These committees meet at a specified date and time to review test content and help determine scoring parameters for performance tasks. These may be held in-person or virtually, depending on the meeting. Compensation is provided for participation.

Educator Item Review Cadre:

These committees will review newly developed assessment items to ensure that the content measures Montana standards, the items are clearly worded and have clear correct answers and are appropriate for all Montana students by being free of bias and sensitivity concerns.

Educator Range-finding Cadre:

These committees will help guide scoring for performance tasks. Educators will help finalize the scoring rubrics and identify exemplar samples of student responses at each score point. The committee-reviewed responses are then used to build scoring guides with anchor papers, practice sets, and qualification sets to train human scorers.
