Help Write the Next Generation of Assessment
Attend New Meridian’s assessment-writing workshop for Montana educators
New Meridian and the Montana Office of Public Instruction are creating a model for the next generation of state assessments—and we need Montana teachers to participate.
New Meridian will send dozens of Montana elementary- and middle-school educators to Denver July 11-15 to attend an Item Writing Workshop. Participants will be compensated for their time and will be trained on how to write test items and then play a role in creating the assessments for Montana’s new innovative assessment system.
The New Meridian Instructionally Aligned Testlet System is pioneering a new approach that connects assessment with teaching and learning by administering testlets – short mini-tests – throughout the year, aligned to local curriculum, student readiness, and state standards. The result is a “classroom up” approach that gives teachers real-time feedback to customize instruction for each student while providing schools, districts and state leaders with actionable summative data to inform critical decisions.
To learn how you can participate in the Item Writing Workshop, read on.
